Ben was the kind of guy who, if even for the briefest moment, if he could make some one smile, he felt he'd done his duty. A lot of people I knew regarded Ben as a loud mouth that talked too much and just didn't know whene to hush. But that was Ben. His drive in life was to make people laugh and smile. Sometimes he tried too hard but that's what made him the beautiful man he is.

Even if he was so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes open, if a friend ever asked for his help or just wanted his company, Ben would sacrifice his sleep and relaxation to go to that friend. Just to be there. Ben was selfless. He never put himself before anyone. He never acted with the thought of personal gain. All he wanted was the world to be a happier place, and he tried to do it one corny joke at a time.

Ben would even go so far as to hand out coca-colas to random total strangers on his way out of Wal*Mart during the Christmas Holidays. Because as Ben said.. "Nothing puts a smile on peoples face like a Jolly Fat guy handing out cokes"

Ben never did anything half way. If he had a job to do, he made sure it was done right. He was never late to work, never called in, and hardly ever complained if it wasn't worth complaining about.

Ben was more than just a Jolly fat guy. He was a dear friend, and practically a brother. Benjamin Peter Mevis was the single most selfless man I ever had the pleasure to know. and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Even those who found him annoying are going to miss his antics whether they'll admit it or not.

Ben... Rest in peace, baby!
